Editorial Policy
How we research, write, review, correct and fund the content on GreenAccelerators.
Who writes for GreenAccelerators
Every article on GreenAccelerators is written and reviewed by practitioners who deliver green economy programmes on the ground in Nigeria. Our lead author is Elkanah Oluyori, Executive Director of Clement Isong Foundation in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, with over 16 years of experience in governance accountability, climate justice, green economy development and civic technology.
We do not publish anonymous content, syndicated filler or unattributed reprints. Author identity, role and contact details appear on every article.
How we research
Our reporting draws on programme delivery data from Clement Isong Foundation, direct engagement with youth, employers and funders in Akwa Ibom State and across Nigeria, published policy documents from Nigerian federal and state agencies, and data from institutions such as the World Bank, IRENA, UNEP, IEA, the Federal Ministry of Environment and the National Bureau of Statistics.
Where we cite a salary figure, funding amount, deadline or statistic, we name the source and the period the figure covers. Where reliable data does not exist, we say so rather than estimate silently.
Our writing standards
Articles must answer a specific question a reader actually has, at a level of detail that is useful to someone taking action this week. We ban generic openers, padded introductions, recycled definitions and filler that exists only to reach a word count.
Every guide must contain at least one thing a reader cannot easily find elsewhere: a real cost, a real timeline, a real eligibility rule, a named institution, or a documented failure mode.
Review and fact-checking
Before publication, each article is reviewed for factual accuracy, source quality, currency of figures, and practical usefulness. Opportunity listings are checked against the originating organisation's own website, and we link to that original source rather than to aggregators.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say what changed. Email info@greenaccelerators.com with the article title and the correction. We respond to correction requests within five working days and update the article with a dated note where the change is material.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools to assist with drafting, structuring and summarising research. No article is published without human editorial direction, human fact-checking and named human accountability. The named author is responsible for the accuracy of everything published under their name.
Advertising and independence
GreenAccelerators displays advertising, including Google AdSense, and may include affiliate links to training providers or tools. Advertising revenue supports free access to the platform for young people.
Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over what we cover, how we cover it, or which opportunities we publish. We do not accept payment to list an opportunity, and we do not remove critical coverage at an advertiser's request. Where a link is commercial, we label it.
Funding
GreenAccelerators is a programme of Clement Isong Foundation, delivered under the ActionAid Nigeria Strategic Partnership Agreement II (SPA II), funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and ActionAid Denmark. Funders do not review or approve editorial content before publication.
