About this opportunity

The United Nations Global Compact SPARK 2026 is a structured, practical learning journey designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and suppliers develop the knowledge, tools, and capabilities needed to strengthen their sustainability practices and respond to changing expectations across global value chains.

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of doing business. Companies of all sizes face growing expectations from customers, investors, business partners, regulators, and global supply chains to manage their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts. For SMEs and suppliers with limited time, staff, and financial resources, SPARK breaks down these expectations into manageable steps.

The 2026 SPARK programme features a streamlined, three-month learning journey running from 10 September to 10 December 2026. The programme reduces the time burden on participating businesses while providing clear milestones and practical resources that can be applied directly to day-to-day operations. Participants will focus on identifying priorities, understanding environmental and social risks, and establishing practical plans for business improvement and integration.

Who Can Apply

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and suppliers operating within global value chains. Particularly relevant for businesses beginning their sustainability journey, seeking to understand operational sustainability, responding to customer or procurement requirements, or looking to prepare for changing market and regulatory expectations.
