Climate Funding for NGOs Beyond the Climate Sector

Climate change is increasingly affecting the communities NGOs work with - from health and education to livelihoods, migration, humanitarian response and community development.

As climate risks change the needs of communities and the way programmes are delivered, NGOs may also need to think differently about adaptation, resilience and funding. Climate-related funding is not limited to organizations whose main focus is the environment or climate change. There can be opportunities for organizations working across other sectors when climate risks are directly connected to the problems they are addressing.
