About this opportunity
The Slingshot Challenge is a youth-focused conservation initiative by the National Geographic Society, supported by Allen Family Philanthropies and the RBC Foundation. The challenge invites young participants aged 13β18 to share their creative ideas for addressing environmental and conservation issues. To enter, participants must submit a 1-minute video pitch describing their proposed environmental solution for a chance to receive up to USD $10,000 in funding.
Designed to empower small steps and innovative ideas that build a better future for the planet, the Slingshot Challenge provides structured support to participants. Youth applicants can access toolkits, virtual sessions, and community resources to brainstorm, connect with peers, and refine their proposals prior to submission.
