Apply for the CV4E-SA Workshop 2027 at AIMS South Africa, 22–26 February, to learn AI and Computer Vision Methods for Ecological Research – Deadline: 13 November 2026.

Applications are now open for the Computer Vision for Ecology in South Africa (CV4E-SA) Workshop 2027, an opportunity for eligible researchers to develop practical skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision for ecological research, wildlife monitoring, and conservation.

The workshop will take place from 22–26 February 2027 at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS South Africa) in Muizenberg, South Africa. Organised in collaboration with the team behind Computer Vision Methods for Ecology (CV4E), the programme brings together ecological researchers and computer vision specialists to explore how modern AI techniques can help analyse large collections of images, videos, and audio recordings.

The curriculum focuses on practical, hands-on learning adapted to the research realities of scientists working in Africa. Key areas of learning include computer vision for ecological research, processing large image and video datasets, working with ecological audio data, and applying AI to wildlife monitoring and conservation.
