About this opportunity

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking an experienced communications and storytelling professional to serve as its Strategic Content and Storytelling Manager – Africa Region. The role offers an opportunity for an accomplished writer, editor, journalist, or multimedia storyteller to help shape how conservation work across Africa is communicated to global audiences, donors, partners, and communities.

The successful candidate will lead TNC Africa Region's content vision, editorial strategy, and storytelling agenda, transforming complex conservation, scientific, and community-based work into compelling narratives that demonstrate impact and encourage action. The manager will serve as a senior content leader within TNC's Africa Marketing and Communications team, reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications – Africa.

Key responsibilities include establishing an editorial vision and annual storytelling roadmap across priority themes and audiences in Africa. As the region's lead storyteller, the manager will research, write, and produce feature stories, long-form articles, case studies, donor stories, scripts, blogs, and impact reports. The position also oversees multimedia storytelling projects (photography, video, audio) and includes field reporting across landscapes and communities, requiring approximately 20% travel.

The position can be based in a TNC office in Kenya, Tanzania, Gabon, Zambia, South Africa, or Angola. TNC offers country-specific benefits packages including healthcare, retirement benefits, paid time off, and life insurance.
