LabStart Fellowship 2027: Launch Your Climate Tech Startup With Funding, Mentorship and Access to U.S. Research Technologies

The LabStart Fellowship 2027 is inviting entrepreneurs and aspiring founders with a passion for climate technology and entrepreneurship to apply for its next cohort. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs turn promising climate technologies and research into viable startups by providing funding, training, mentorship, access to technologies, and connections across the climate innovation ecosystem.

LabStart focuses on bridging the gap between promising technologies developed in research laboratories and their commercialization in the market. Its program connects entrepreneurs with technologies, researchers, technology-transfer offices, industry experts, investors, and other stakeholders who can help transform an early-stage idea into a functioning climate technology company.

The fellowship is a 12-month program that focuses particularly on deep climate technology, including technologies emerging from research laboratories and universities. Rather than requiring every applicant to arrive with a fully developed company, LabStart supports entrepreneurs who want to start a climate tech company, need help obtaining a technology license, spin a technology out of a university/laboratory, or explore new market opportunities.

Fellows receive milestone-based funding (between $100,000 and $125,000 in direct and in-kind funding), full-time financial support, climate tech entrepreneurship training delivered by FRACTAL, expert mentorship, access to U.S. research institution technologies, IP/licensing support, and access to industry and investor networks.
