About this opportunity
The MENA Regenerative Agriculture Venture Programme, organized by Goumbook, aims to empower and upskill scientists, researchers, and students addressing key agricultural challenges in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This initiative seeks innovative research and nature-based solutions to enhance food security, soil health, water scarcity, climate resilience, and sustainable farming practices.
The programme is designed to support the development of regenerative and entrepreneurial skills in research-based agricultural solutions. Participants benefit from grants of up to $20,000 for the top three finalists, upskilling to validate solutions, acceleration support for potential funding and incubation, access to a digital community platform, free self-paced online courses, mentorship from world-class experts, expert talks, and regional exposure.
Priority areas for solutions include healthy soil regeneration, diversified crop systems, organic and bio-fertilizers, biodiversity enhancement, sustainable food and water security, reduction of synthetic pesticides, integration of livestock and agroforestry (silvopasture), carbon capture and sequestration, and improvement of rural and social welfare.
