Whitley Awards 2027: Apply for £50,000 in Conservation Funding for Grassroots Conservation Projects Worldwide

Applications are open for the 2027 Whitley Awards, a prestigious conservation funding opportunity supporting grassroots conservation leaders who are developing practical, science-based solutions to protect biodiversity, strengthen communities, and create lasting environmental impact.

Awarded annually by the Whitley Fund for Nature, each Whitley Award provides £50,000 in project funding for one year. Winners also receive international profile-raising opportunities, communications and media support, peer learning, training, and collaboration opportunities, alongside eligibility for future Continuation Funding and the Whitley Gold Award.

The awards target dynamic, mid-career conservationists who are already implementing proven, established conservation projects with demonstrated potential and need additional funding to expand or scale up their impact. Eligible projects must involve local grassroots communities, deliver practical conservation action, and be founded on science.
