About this opportunity

FSD Africa is inviting applications for an Assistant Manager, A&R Programmes, a full-time opportunity for professionals with experience in programme management, development finance, financial sector development, data analysis, and multi-stakeholder coordination.

The successful candidate will support the organisation's Adaptation & Resilience (A&R) Programmes, with a particular focus on the AFIYA programme, a multi-country initiative funded by the Mastercard Foundation. The programme seeks to expand access to gender-intentional agricultural insurance and complementary financial services for young women smallholder farmers and agri-preneurs across Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal during its first phase.

Key Responsibilities:

- Programme Operations and Reporting: Support day-to-day operational management, maintain reporting calendars for Mastercard Foundation narrative/financial reports, and manage tracking systems like Monday.com.

- Workplan and Delivery Tracking: Maintain workplan trackers, monitor milestones against approved results frameworks, and identify potential delays or risks.

- Budget Monitoring and Financial Administration: Maintain monthly budget-versus-actuals (BVA) trackers, support variance analysis, reconcile expenditures, and assist with resourcing and procurement plans.

- Partner Coordination and Compliance: Support partner onboarding, due diligence, contracting follow-ups, and coordinate partner reports and workshops.

- Monitoring, Evidence and Learning: Coordinate data collection against the programme's results framework in collaboration with the Development Impact team.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Relevant Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 4 years of relevant experience in programme management, development finance, or financial sector development.

- Practical experience supporting programmes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with strong data management and financial tracking skills.

- Desirable: Experience in agricultural insurance, climate/adaptation finance, grant-funded reporting (e.g., Mastercard Foundation), gender-intentional/youth-focused initiatives, AI tools for programme management, and French language skills.

Who Can Apply

Candidates must hold either a relevant Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in programme management, development finance, financial sector development, or a related field. Practical experience with multi-stakeholder environments, financial tracking, budget administration, and project tracking tools is required.
