Amazon Research Awards 2026 – Fall Call for Proposals

The Amazon Research Awards (ARA) has opened its Fall 2026 call for proposals, providing academic researchers with an opportunity to seek support for projects across nine research areas in artificial intelligence, security, cryptography, machine learning, and related fields.

The programme welcomes research proposals addressing theoretical, practical, and novel technical challenges, with submissions assessed based on scientific quality, creativity, and potential for impact at scale. Selected recipients receive unrestricted funds and AWS promotional credits to support eligible research activities. Funded projects are also assigned an Amazon research contact, providing a point of engagement between the research team and Amazon's research community.

In addition to financial and cloud-computing support, recipients gain access to training resources, including AWS tutorials and hands-on sessions involving Amazon scientists and engineers.

- Agentic AI

- AI for Information Security

- Amazon Security

- Automated Reasoning

- AWS Cryptography

- Build on Trainium: Agentic, Recursive Improvement of Kernels and Frameworks

- Multilingual and Contextual AI Evaluation

- On-Device Multimodal Perception

- Synthetic Data Generation for Multimodal Perception
