About this opportunity

Hivos has announced a major international recruitment drive following the award of the THRIVE Programme (Promoting an Enabling Environment for Civil Society) under the Swedish Strategy for Support to Civil Society 2025–2029. The programme will operate across Kenya, Zimbabwe, Colombia, and Lebanon, creating 11 professional opportunities for finance, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and programme support specialists.

The multi-country initiative is designed to strengthen the resilience, sustainability, and effectiveness of civil society organizations working in increasingly complex civic environments. Through strategic partnerships and capacity-building interventions, THRIVE seeks to empower civil society actors with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to safeguard civic space and promote inclusive democratic participation.

Available positions include:

- Finance Opportunities: Finance Officer (Kenya), Finance Officer (Zimbabwe), Finance Officer (Lebanon), Finance Manager (Multi-country Programme)

- Project Management Opportunities: Project Officer (Kenya), Project Officer (Zimbabwe), Project Officer (Lebanon), Project Officer (Colombia)

- Monitoring, Evaluation and Programme Support: DMEL Officer (Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning), Project Assistant

THRIVE is built around three interconnected outcomes: safe and inclusive spaces for collaboration, stronger operational and strategic capacity, and greater access to knowledge, networks, and resources for civil society organizations across the target regions.

Who Can Apply

Experienced professionals committed to strengthening civil society and promoting inclusive development. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in project management, financial management, DMEL, civil society development, partnership engagement, or international development. Experience working in donor-funded programmes, governance, or human rights is highly encouraged. Position-specific location requirements apply across Kenya, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, and Colombia.
