U.S. Embassy Burundi Foreign National Student Internship Program 2026: Apply for an International Work Experience

The U.S. Embassy in Burundi invites non-U.S. citizen students interested in gaining practical experience in an international diplomatic environment to apply for the Foreign National Student Internship Program (FNSIP) 2026. The programme provides eligible foreign national students with a unique opportunity to experience a foreign affairs work environment and gain exposure to the operations of a U.S. diplomatic mission.

Unlike many international internship opportunities, the FNSIP is specifically designed for non-U.S. citizens interested in professional work within the U.S. Mission in Burundi. It provides exposure to international affairs, diplomacy, government, public administration, international development, political science, communications, and related fields.

Prospective applicants should note that the internship is unpaid and does not include benefits. Participation does not create any entitlement or rights to future employment with the U.S. Mission or the U.S. government. Participants must be able to meet any personal expenses associated with participating in the internship.
