The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Climate and Energy Internship 2026 invites applications from eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as recent graduates interested in climate action, renewable energy, sustainable development, climate finance, and international development.

Titled 'Intern – Climate and Energy Project Support', this opportunity is based with the UNDP Rome Centre for Climate Action and Energy Transition. Selected interns will support research, project coordination, investment facilitation, communications, and administrative activities across the Centre's climate and energy portfolio.

The internship is available on a full-time basis for a duration of six months. Two working arrangements are available: office-based in Rome, Italy, or home-based. Applicants must indicate their preferred arrangement, availability period, and location of residence during the internship in their application.

The portfolio covers three major policy areas:

1. Youth engagement in climate action (via Youth4Climate).

2. Energy for development (via the Energy for Growth Initiative).

3. Climate finance (via the Platform for Investment Support and Technical Assistance - PISTA).

Selected candidates will gain exposure to climate policy, project preparation, investment facilitation, international development finance, and youth-led climate initiatives.
